FAQ 1: What are "removable side covers"? |
The standard WIESE casing is supplied as an entirely closed metal casing with inspection holes.
Casings with removable side covers can also be supplied which makes cleaning easier. For this purpose, the completely removable side sections are part of the whole base including the corner section as a cover. These covers are secured with two to three sash fasteners, and can therefore be completely unhinged and put to one side using two grip plates.

FAQ 2: What do I need "extra drawers" for? |
The standard WIESE casing is always supplied with drawers underneath the in-feed and the corner modules. Optionally, these can be inserted from both sides, without reassembling, and are secured with casement fasteners.
Often fitting all horizontal conveying lines with drawers is recommended, as this makes quick and easy cleaning possible.

FAQ 3: What I need an "transparent door" for? |
In standard WIESE casings, doors made entirely of polycarbonate can be inserted. These “transparent inspection doors” are easy to clean and can be inserted in the vertical sections’ cover sheets, or underneath the head segments. These doorss are fitted with hinges and sash fasteners. This guarantees quick and easy access.

FAQ 4: What I need an "transparent window" for? |
In standard WIESE casings, windows made entirely of polycarbonate can be inserted. So you can observe the bucket filling without opening any inspection doors.
We recommend inserting this window in a steel flap, so that you can wipe off dust from the inside at any time. Or flaps made completely of polycarbonate are used (see FAQ 3 "transparent door").

FAQ 5: Should you specially equip the casing to convey dust-forming bulk goods?
When conveying dusty goods - e. g. powder, sugar, sand - brackets (DN100 or DN200) connected with the customer’s suction system for all in-feed and discharge points are recommended. This substantially reduces the deposits of dust on the casing.

FAQ 6: How can I repair the chain?
You can always repair it on site by vulcanising. Where damage is small or tears negligible, special adhesive can be used. Experience has shown however that this is hardly ever necessary.
FAQ 7: Why is there a tension unit if the chain does not have to be re-tensioned?
This is only used for fitting, to insert the chain in a relaxed state. Then the chain tension is adjusted once again and re-checked after a few days.

FAQ 8: What total lengths can the WIESE rubber chain be produced in?
The rubber chain can be produced to any length. Bucket and pendulum bucket conveyors with a total chain length of over 150m have often been produced. For other applications, rubber chains with a total length of over 400m have been supplied.
FAQ 9: How is the rubber chain closed?
The chain is either vulcanised to make an endless ring, or link connectors are used that close the rubber chain using link connector bolts and split pins. We will suggest the most suitable solution depending on the situation on site (for example, what sort of products are to be conveyed? Are they abrasive? Are they sticky?)

FAQ 10: Can I modify a continuous bucket / pendulum bucket conveyor at a later date?
The WIESE casings are supplied in a modular form. They include drill holes for any subsequent layout modifications required, so that no further drilling is needed. They are also made to be symmetrical so that all components can be swapped from right to left without having to carry out any major construction work.

FAQ 11: How do I get WIESE spare parts?
You can obtain spare parts for your WIESE bucket conveyor for more than 20 years after you have installed it. We update and stock all the technical documents for each bucket conveyor supplied. Just state your machine number and you can obtain the correct spare part for years afterwards.

FAQ 12: How can I clean the bucket conveyor?
As a standard, all casings are fitted with drawers / FAQ2 / in the in-feed segments and the corner segments. These can be inserted on both sides. As well as the standard inspection doors, larger removable side covers / FAQ1 / can also be supplied. Doors can also be applied to the whole vertical section.
The additional advantage of pendulum bucket conveyors is that the pendulum buckets can be removed anywhere without additional tools and cleaned outside of the casing.
This means that each section of the casing is easy to get to.
FAQ 13: Is there a CIP-unit (cleaning section)?
Cleaning and drying nozzles can be inserted in all types.
WIESE however suggests removing and exchanging the pendulum buckets, as the buckets are washed carefully and externally, which means no moisture is introduced into the casing.
External cleaning: Easy and thorough cleaning of the pendulum buckets without tools

FAQ 14: Are there restrictions on where the WIESE bucket conveyors can be used?
As with any technical equipment, WIESE bucket conveyors are also subjects to the basic laws of physics. Chemical resistance for example is very good, but some cases require careful consideration to find the best solution. Where the goods conveyed or ambient conditions are hot, appropriate materials are selected.
FAQ 15: Are there restrictions on the lengths or heights?
Not as a rule. WIESE engineers will select the suitable chain type with a safety factor of eight to ten times more than the nominal load for your project.
FAQ 16: Is pulsing conveying or conveying of pre-weighed products possible?
Yes, both have been done. We are experienced and would be pleased to assist you.
FAQ 17: Can the WIESE conveyors be used in the deep frozen warehouses or manufacturing areas?
This is no problem as the rubber chain still stays flexible at minus temperatures. The bucket materials are selected so that they do not become brittle breaking.
